About ShopCanadianStuff.ca
I’ve built this website to provide easy access for Canadians to search for products and services from Canada. All products included must have some Canadian content. Exactly what is a Canadian product is a complicated subject, there are official definitions for claiming a product is Made in Canada, Product of Canada or Canadian Made. Similar product claims like baked in Canada, assembled in Canada, prepared in Canada are included in the category “Other Canadian Content”, so long as there is some Canadian manufacturing. To be clear food grown in Canada but not manufactured will also be included.
My focus with this site is to help shoppers find and buy products and services made in Canada. With that in mind I’ve included links to the most popular online shops in Canada as I think this is the most practical way to get the most people buying Canadian products. Unfortunately, the most popular online shops in Canada are owned by American companies. Where possible I will find one or more Canadian online retailer as well or list the manufacturers direct sales site, if this information is missing I encourage users to add it.
If you know a product that should be included, please register here and you’ll be able to add to the database. User submissions will be verified, if you can include an explanation of how you know the product is manufactured in Canada that would be helpful.
Listings marked as verified on this site do not indicate that a company’s claims have been checked for accuracy with an audit of their production and ingredients, the verified mark means that the site admin has read the source of the claim or checked independently. This is to prevent users from accidentally adding a product that isn’t made in Canada as many companies are quite vague about where their products are made. Additionally, we are tracking things made in Canada, rather than things made outside of Canada by Canadian companies.
If you can’t find what you are looking for please see our list of other Buy Canadian sites and apps.
